4 reasons to switch to a natural hand wash

Ready to detox your life this year? Start with your bathroom!
If you're thinking about switching to a more natural hand wash, here are three compelling reasons to make the change.
1. Scents grown in nature... not in a lab
Synthetic fragrances can smell pretty but so can naturally derived aromas!
Nature has gifted us a bounty of complex and incredible scents within essential oils and botanical extracts, derived from natural sources like leaves, petals, bark and seeds.
Here in Australia, our own ecosystem is even more unique. Home to botanicals found nowhere else on earth, our native flora have been cherished for their traditional benefits over thousands of years.
Native plants such as Waratah Flower, Desert Lime, Kakadu Plum and Rosella Flower are just a few that can be found in Bosisto’s Hand & Body Wash range.
When combined with essential oils, these scents reach new heights of luxury. Try our Desert Lime & Eucalyptus, Wattleseed & Orange or the Banksia Flower & Lavender Hand Wash for example – they need to be experienced to be believed.
2. Peace of mind from nasties
When you buy an average hand wash, you really don’t know what’s in it. That’s not the case with Bosisto’s.
This range leaves out: Sodium Laureth Sulphate (SLES), Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS), Harsh petrochemicals, Synthetic fragrances, Animal derivatives, Triethanolamine, Propylene Glycol, Artificial colours, Mineral oils, Parabens, Triclosan, Palm oil, EDTA, PEGs & Soap.
Our Desert Lime & Eucalyptus Hand Wash was awarded Gold in the 2024 Clean + Conscious Awards, an independently judged awards focused on brands that are low tox, ethical and sustainable.

Ingredient transparency is important, and a full ingredient list for each hand wash should be listed on the brand’s website – you’ll find this for every Bosisto’s formula in the range.
3. Kinder to our animal friends
Are you a friend of all creatures great and small? A naturally derived hand wash like Bosisto’s is more likely not to use Palm Oil, not to be tested on animals, and to be Vegan friendly. But always check on pack and on their website.
4. They work!
But do naturally derived formulas really work to clean your hands? They sure do!
Many people mistakenly think that antibacterial soaps are needed to thoroughly clean hands, but this isn’t the case.
According to Monash University: “There’s no scientific evidence they’re any better than plain soap or water”, and in fact could encourage resistant super bugs. Since 2016, the US has banned antibacterials like triclosan in their soaps.
The best way to make sure your hands are free of germs? Wash your hands (with any soap, and any temperature water) for at least 20 seconds – or the time it takes to sing the ‘Happy birthday’ song twice. Then dry thoroughly with a clean towel or paper towel.
Use sanitisers only if you don’t have access to hand washing.
Now you know you don’t need harsh additives in your soap, why not choose gentle, skin-friendly ingredients in a more natural hand wash?
Bosisto’s uses a gentle, coconut-derived base which not only keeps your hands hygienic but leaves them soft, moisturised and nourished, too.
